As some of you already know, my first novel, THE FLOCK, got the
interest of a major movie producer last year. That producer, Don
Murphy (NATURAL BORN KILLERS, APT PUPIL, LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY
GENTLEMEN, FROM HELL, SHOOT 'EM UP, etc.) partnered with John Wells
(WEST WING, ER, etc.) and Warner Brothers to make my book into a
feature film.

My literary/film agent just called to let me know that we have
received my first cash advance and that it appears the project has
been (in Hollywood parlance) "green lighted".

We'll see. I'll keep you guys posted on any further developments.

Bob,

Sounds Great! I will need to get you to autograph my copy of The Flock next month. As a side issue, you know that in order to maintain a connection to the southern lifestyle, without turning completely Hollywood, I would recommend expanding you name. You really do not have enough first names. Jim Bob Smith is a good start, but to go full out you need to add maybe a William and a Joseph, Now that would really hit the spot --- Billy Joe Jim Bob Smith a southern name if I ever heard one.

Ed

Don't tell anyone, but my mom was born in Manhattan. Then my dad
brought her south for the rest of her life.

ENTS,

I was looking around the internet today and I found what appear to be initial mock-ups for characters to appear the movie adaptation of James Robert Smith's first novel - The Flock

The giant bird appears to be eating someone.
