Bardic Ability:Bardic Ability: A bard is able to create magic-like abilities by using song, dance, playing an instrument, or similar performance skill. An example would be the Pied Piper of Hamlin. They can use song to influence others, build courage in allies, cause fear in opponents, or to counter other sound based effects. This mystical skill costs 10 points to achieve the 1st rank of ability in the skill. Thereafter points are paid to increase ranks in the skill on a normal schedule. The linked attribute is charisma. There are different target numbers for various bardic abilities dependent upon the nature of the effect. Generally a bard must perform for at least 1 full round before any effect takes place. The effect will begin upon the bards initiative during the second round of the performance. Unless otherwise specified the bardic effect will last five rounds after the performance has ended. Rally
Friends: provides a +1 bonus
to attacks and saving throws to people allied with the bard.
They must be able to hear the bard for the ability to be effective.
Target number = 12 Frighten Enemies: causes all enemies who hear the effect to suffer a –1 penalty to their attacks and saving throws. It may be used at the same time as rally friends. The effect persists for a period after the performance is ended equal in length to the time of performance, maximum 10 combat rounds. Target number = 12. Enhance Mood: When performing before a crowd, a bard using this ability will cause all of the spectators to feel favorable toward him and his performance. It is often used to gain a more favorable tithing from the onlookers. Target Number = 14. Counter Sound Based Attack: This skill allows the bard to counter the effects of any sound based attack form, such as a roar of a lion, screech of a banshee, or spells that use sound as an attack form. Target Number = 16. Dispell Silence: Bard can dispel a temporary magical silence placed on an area by a spell. It does not dispel permanent silence effects. Target number = 16. Enhance Skill: When using his bardic skills, the bard can bestow upon a single individual a bonus of +2 to perform a given mundane or mystical skill. Target number = 18. Counter Charm: The bard can remove or counter the effect of any charm placed upon an individual or group of individuals. Area of effect can be specified as either an individual or all within hearing (or sight). Target Number = 20. Charm Individual: The bard using this skill can charm an individual . The charmed person will believe that the caster is his best friend and will do nothing to harm him. The charmed person will usually do as the caster asks. Duration is one day. Target Number = 22. in hearing. They will believe
the bard is their friend and ally and will often do as the bard asks.
