Howdy ents, I hope you don't mind me sending these photos via email. I
found these white pines, which I haven't formally measured yet (suspect
the tallest to be 120+ feet), north of Marquette, MI. Quite impressive
for my latitude (in the upper peninsula of MI). A professor of mine
knows about them as well, and we've agreed to keep the location secret.
Hope you don't mind. I can send more photos upon request. I've
estimated about 100 acres of what appears to be virgin white
pine-hemlock-sugar maple.

Also, I am 6'4" tall, just so you have a bit of comparison. I'm well
aware of the lensing effect a wide-angle lens can produce. My height
should not be dramatically affected (or not as affected as it would be
if I were at the edge of the shot). I have cropped them down to only
include the trees. -Danny

hahah nah. Though the thought has crossed my mind more than once to trespass to search for the pines some members say are 200' tall. Rubbish, complete rubbish...

Daniel:

Looks like a great grove of trees. It looks similar to the grove further
west on South Boundary Road in the Porkies. Hopefully its not so secret
that I can't visit next year, since I make several trips to the UP between
May and October.
