I have the trip report posted at my blog:

http://tilthelasthemlockdies.blogspot.com/2008/04/into-gorge.html

I have to say up front that the long winter has not been good to me. I
didn't do much hiking and my weight is up by fifteen pounds. And the
trail I took into and out of the gorge is widely considered to be the
single steepest. The Pinch In Trail. The following day, ten+ hours of
sleep later, I am still worn out and very sore.

I had recently joined a hiking group that centered on Linville Gorge
hoping to learn about the area before I backpacked in there. The group
owner turned out to be a truly hideously rude individual and so I left
that one and started a new discussion group at Google Groups.

If anyone's interested in posting trip reports, photographs, technical
information, etc., you can access the new group at:

All are welcome.

James S,

Very cool idea. I checked it out. Many of us ENTS are avid hikers so
this should have appeal.
