The tallest tree in Germany -  Douglas Fir Kouta Rasanen
  January 10, 2009
ENTS,

I just read this:

http://www.frsw.de/littenweiler/arboretum.htm

The new tallest tree of Germany has been found in the last fall in Freiburg, Baden-Württenberg. It is a Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) and is 63.33 metres (207.7 feet) tall. The www-site says the tree has been measured with a modern laser equipment.

Are there tall Douglas-firs in eastern US?
