without the photo attached but it still wouldn't go through for
some reason.

I've attached a photo of a huge red oak tree in the side yard of
a friend of
mine here in Warren, PA. I measured the bole at 62.3" dbh.
I don't know how
tall it is, but I would guesstimate very close to 100' and
perhaps more than
that. The crown has a wide spread, well up and over the rooftop
of the large
Victorian mansion the tree is next to.

I asked the owner if he would mind if one of you guys wanted to
come over
and get more detailed measurements for the height and crown
spread, etc.,
and he said that would be fine. If anyone is interested in
measuring this
tree, shoot me an email and I can give you the owner's name,
address, and
phone number. He is also interested in getting advice on how
best to
maintain the health of the tree over time.
